Why Jurassic World Dominion Was Mostly Not About Dinosaurs
Jurassic World Dominion‘s new dinosaurs are surprisingly not the primary focus of the plot, which is instead centered around the ethical implications and possibilities of radical new biotechnologies, particularly through Biosyn’s giant locusts. In fact, Biosyn’s use of genetically-modified giant locusts to monopolize the global agricultural market mirrors how modern food companies use invasive genetically-modified crops to do the same. On the other hand, the reveal that Jurassic World Dominion‘s Maisie is a clone shows how this type of technology can be put to good use. Apart from being immune to the genetic disease that killed Charlotte, Maisie also contains DNA which becomes crucial to eradicating the giant locust menace. In short, Jurassic World Dominion doesn’t focus on dinosaurs because it instead reveals the larger implications of cloning technology, which is what started the Jurassic Park franchise in the first place. Although this is an arguably fitting way to finish the series, Jurassic World 3‘s all-new dinosaurs are mostly relegated to the background.
Jurassic World Dominion Dinosaurs: Lystrosaurus
Not exactly a dinosaur Lystrosaurus lived about 5 to 10 million years before dinosaurs reared their heads. It was a born survivor managing to make it through the Earths worst ever Extinction event. It appears in the Jurassic World Dominion trailer wearing a mask, which while cute is probably unnecessary for this hyper adaptable, laughs in the face of extinctions, almost a dinosaur.
It was relatively small as Jurassic World dinosaurs go, and it looks like they didnt mess with its appearance too much, we have the stats below, but it is good to see it make an appearance as at one stage is was about 95% of all vertebrate animals in its environment. It was THAT successful! Not bad for a dinosaur you have never heard of!
Lystrosaurus Cool Facts: Lystrosaurus is a survivor, it survived the largest extinction event on earth the the Permian-Triassic extinction event 250 million years ago.

Jeff Goldbums Chaos Theorist Ian Malcolm Finds New Maturity
Ellie and Alan reunite with mathematician Ian Malcolm as they look into Biosyn Genetics scientific shenanigans, and Ian acts as their man on the inside. Goldblums character is the snarky voice of reason in Jurassic Park, though hes been changed by being so close to the toothy jaws of death over the years.
I imagine that at this point he is more present than ever and probably cherishes, is thankful for and appreciates every moment that comes around, Goldblum says. He wants to use his resources and energies to leave behind something as substantial as possible and manage his stewardship on this planet and kind of move the needle as much as he can.

Which Dinosaurs And Other Animals Are In Jurassic World Dominion
Returning dinosaurs and prehistoric reptiles include the sagas main Tyrannosaurus Rex, Velociraptor Blue and her offspring Beta, Triceratops, Parasaurolophus, Dilophosaurus, Mosasaurus, Pteranodon, and Allosaurus, among many others. Longtime Jurassic Park fanatics should love the dino selection in this one, especially once they hear how paleontologists rate ‘Jurassic World: Dominion.’

“What they’ve done … is mixed up the dinosaurs as kind of like an alphabet soup of dinosaurs all dumped into a dish, add a little bit of action, stir it up and you have a movie,” Dr. David Burnham, a paleontologist at the University of Kansas Biodiversity Institute and Natural History Museum, told ABC News. “Well, of course they didn’t all live at the same time, they all didn’t live in the same place.”
Burnham said this presents a teaching opportunity to educate the public about the giant creatures that went extinct millions of years ago.
“People I interact with, students at the university, volunteers in my program, they come in with all these questions and a lot of them have seen these movies, and so it’s my chance to teach them the scientific details,” he said. “To say, ‘Oh, no, they wouldn’t have lived together.”Oh, no. This one is from Mongolia. It’s not from North America.'”
The first ‘Jurassic Park’ movie
Arguably, the three most infamous types of dinosaurs featured in the very first “Jurassic Park”movie are a Triceratops, a Tyrannosaurus rex and velociraptors.
However, not all three would have been living at the same time.
“Two of them would — there’s no question the Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus bumped into each other,” Dr. Paul Sereno, a paleontologist at the University of Chicago, told ABC News. “They both lived in North America, and they lived to the very end . They are some of the last of the dinosaurs alive.”

How To Watch ‘jurassic World Dominion’
ByFran Ruizpublished 28 July 22
Heres how to watch Jurassic World Dominion plus the full rundown of the sixth entry in the dino-sized franchise, which presents a literal Jurassic World.
Say hello to ‘Jurassic World Dominion’, one of the gargantuan blockbusters that kicked off this summer season and is the sixth and seemingly final entry in the Jurassic Park franchise. Heres how to watch ‘Jurassic World Dominion’ plus a complete overview of its premise and the new and returning talent behind the promised epic conclusion.
‘Jurassic World Dominion’ finally delivers on the promise of prehistoric creatures and humans co-existing in a modern world where genetic power has been unleashed. Its no longer fixated on dinosaurs and other previously extinct animals wreaking havoc, but also deals with how humans use technology and scientific knowledge that could doom the entire planet if used in dishonest ways. Spoiler alert: someone messes up big time, and an unexpected group of heroes, old and new, must save the day again.
This time around, the action goes global and completely forgets about Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna . Some dinosaurs roam free among humans and other animals others are being used as cattle poachers are moving them across black markets and big companies are looking for new ways to profit off of as many prehistoric creatures as they can capture and create.
Nasutoceratops Sinoceratops And Triceratops
Nasutoceratops, Sinoceratops, and Triceratops comprise the herd that’s spooked by Dinosaur Protection Group members Claire, Zia , and Franklin as they make a run for it after breaking a baby Nasutoceratops out of captivity and away from poachers towards the beginning of the movie. The baby is then encountered by Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant as it’s transported to Biosyn’s dinosaur sanctuary in Italy.

Jurassic World Dominion Dinosaurs: Quetzalcoatlus
36 feet of wings is the defining feature of the Quetzalcoatlus, and it appears an intense dislike of planes. The quetzalcoatlus was and is the the largest ever flying dinosaur. Well it wasnt a dinosaur, it was a pterosaur but it was still the largest ever flying animal.
It was as tall as a giraffe and had the wing span to match, those wings are thought to be able to take it 8000 miles or so in one go flying for up to 10 days with out a stop. More than enough to cross oceans if it felt a need, so we have a feeling as one of the new Jurassic World dinosaurs this one may be a little widespread!
Quetzalcoatlus Cool Facts: The Name Quetzalcoatlus means winged serpent god in Aztec, and looking at it we can understand why!

Jurassic World Dominion Dinosaurs: Giganotosaurus
The largest carnivore to ever walk the Earth, Whether this is being said about the Giganotosaurus or the rumoured Spinosaurus return to Jurassic World Dominion matters. One is correct and one is Wrong. You can read How big was Spinosaurus to find out that answer. Though if you are on a dinosaur website you probably already know.
giganotosaurus is certainly a worthy villain of the movie. it was truly massive, and being less developed than a T-Rex might make it more like a fox in a chicken coop, as it seems to being portrayed. like a real life version of the Indominus Rex, with the attitude and lust for death to match.
We see it dispatching the T-Rex in the prologue to Jurassic World dominion and have a feeling that round two of T-Rex Vs. Giganotosaurus might go a little differently. If so, its about time! That T-rex can never catch a break!
Giganotosaurus Cool Facts: The giganotosaurus, or Giga as it has now been shortened to. Was The Apex predator of its time.

The second of our not a dinosaur, or third if you count quetzalcoatlus The Dimetrodon is classified, popularly at least, as a kind of Mammal like reptile, or reptile like mammal. Which it is really neither of. It was a pelycosaur
It lived about 35 million years before the first dinosaurs, and it is known for its huge sail on its back, probably used for both keeping cool and looking cool.
Dimetrodon Cool Facts: Dimetrodon was a type of prehistoric reptile known as a pelycosaur that existed during the Permian epoch, roughly 35 million years before the first dinosaur appeared.

In fact, what is portrayed as a velociraptor in the film, and in the original book by Michael Crichton, is not a velociraptor.
“The name ‘velociraptor’ at the time Michael Crichton wrote the book had been expanded to encompass animals that we now no longer call velociraptor,” Dr. Bhart-Anjan Bhullar, an assistant professor of earth & planetary sciences at Yale University, told ABC News. “The animal that Crichton was writing about — the animal depicted in the first ‘Jurassic Park’ — that animal is an animal that we now named Deinonychus.”
Deinonychus also lived in the western U.S. but during the early Cretaceous period, between 120 and 110 million years ago
New dinosaurs introduced
“Jurassic World Dominion” is introducing dinosaur species not seen in the franchise before, including the Atrociraptor, the Giganotosaurus and the Microceratus.
However, none of them would have existed in the same period or — if they did exist at the same time — in the same location.
“The Atrociraptor existed at the end of the time of dinosaurs in North America,” Bhullar said, during the late Cretaceous Period. “Meanwhile the Giganotosaurus existed 20 to 30 million years earlier.”
In a five-minute prologue to “Jurassic World Dominion” that was released in 2021, the Giganotosaurus and the Tyrannosaurs battle each other — something that would never have occurred.
Also appearing in “Jurassic World Dominion” is a Dilophosaurus, which has not been seen since the first “Jurassic Park” movie.

Jurassic Park is unbeatable, you know it, we know it, even Steven Spielberg knows it and those responsible for a franchise that have decided to bring together Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum know it. As curious as The Lost World: Jurassic Park was and that we make an effort to applaud the scattered successes of Jurassic Park III , what happened on Isla Nublar in 1993 is unrepeatable.
The records of Jurassic World showed that the people wanted dinos and the expertise of J.A. Bayona in Jurassic World: The Fallen Kingdom , that something entertaining could still be done with them. For this reason, now Colin Trevorrow has decided to finish off the job by trying to make all of the above part of a great story that Jurassic World: Dominion must close. With Colin Trevorrow at the controls Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard repeating as protagonists, the real expectation before the title we owe it to the return of Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neill. Dinos In Jurassic World Dominion Had Never Been Seen On Screen Before But One In Particular Was ‘really Hard’ To Create
Which was the hardest dinosaur to create for Jurassic World Dominion?
The Jurassic World franchise has done a great job introducing audiences to a number of different dinosaurs. Youve got your T-Rex, velociraptor and brachiosaurus, and let’s not forget the terrifying hybrid dinosaur Indominus Rex. In order to close out the Jurassic World franchise, director Colin Trevorrow knew he had to go out with a bang by introducing ten new dinosaurs in Jurassic World Dominion that have never been seen before. However, there was one dinosaur in particular that was really hard to create.
It seems like Colin Trevorrow cannot help but find a new dinosaur for Chris Pratt to run away from, like the Atrociraptor, which is considered one of the deadliest of the 10 new dinosaurs. As for the one that was the hardest to create, Trevorrow answered that question in The Hollywood ReportersBehind the Screen podcast.
The Pyroraptors were really hard and were the ones that took the longest to develop, because we didnt really have any baseline for it. We had to understand how feathers reacted to wind, ice water and all of these other elements.
Despite Dominion not quite shining on the critical front, it looks like we can still look forward to the insanely-scary dinosaurs Colin Trevorrow brought us. You can see the newly-released conclusion of the Jurassic World series in theaters now.
