How Many Dinosaurs Are In Jurassic World Evolution 2
If you’re wondering how many dinosaurs are in Jurassic World Evolution 2, we can confirm that 84 dinosaurs can be found in the game at launch. The first game in this franchise had around 50 dinosaurs, making this a significant step up for the sequel!
It’s worth noting that the Geosternbergia, Attenborosaurus, Pachyrhinosaurus, Huayangosaurus and Megalosaurus can only be gained by buying the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game.
How To Unlock Dinosaurs In Jurassic World Evolution 2
There are a few things you need to do if you want to unlock dinosaurs in Jurassic World Evolution 2. Some dinosaurs are unlocked by playing the Campaign mode, while other creatures can be earned in the Chaos Theory and Challenge modes. You’ll need to put some significant hours into each of the modes if you want to unlock everything!
As a general rule of thumb, whichever mode you’re playing in, you’ll need to use the Research tab to unlock new dinosaurs. In the Research tab, you can choose which dinosaurs that you want to research. Once you’ve done that initial research, you should unlock a dig site on the map.
More like this
Send a scientist to the dig site, and they’ll come back with a few fossils – it’s normally a mixture of the fossils you wanted, a few other ones, and some valuable rocks that you can sell for extra funds.
Process those fossils and you’ll start compiling a genome – you don’t need a 100% genome to start cloning those dinosaurs, because a 50 per cent genome should be enough to start the process of making your new dino. The higher the genome, though, the greater your chance of success!

A Look At The New Dinosaurs And Features In The ‘dominion’ Dlc

There are four new dinosaurs coming to the game with this DLC, and each of them brings new challenges and spectacles to the game. The new dinos being added are:
- Pyroraptor: “Recognize this gorgeous plumage, Park Managers? This week’s Know Your Dino was none other than Pyroraptor, a distant cousin to the Velociraptor and Deinonychus,” the developers wrote of this dinosaur. “This intelligent ‘fire thief’ is sure to put your park management skills to the test, and will be the talk of your guests!”
- Therizinosaurus: “Therizinosaurus is a fierce, territorial foliage-grazer sporting feathers across its imposing stature,” the developers wrote. “With its elongated forearms and curved claws, this ancient dinosaur whose name means ‘scythe lizard’ has an intimidating appearance. Usually, its claws would be used to pull vegetation to eat, rather than to fight. However, it won’t hesitate to defend its territory.”
- Dimetrodon: “Dimetrodon is the oldest prehistoric species we’ve added to Jurassic World Evolution 2 becoming extinct several million years before dinosaurs first appeared on earth,” the blog post said. “This carnivore is characterized by the impressive neural spine sail on its back, likely used as heat regulation.”
In addition to these new dinos, the DLC will also bring six new skins and two new variants to the game, in addition to an entirely new campaign.

Best Flying Dinosaurs In Jurassic World Evolution 2
We take a look at the most interesting and enjoyable flying dinosaurs to add to your aviary.
Flying dinosaurs, or technically, pterosaurs, are amongst the key features added in Jurassic World Evolution 2 as an improvement over its predecessor. Acquiring these dinosaurs will require a degree of patience in the work needed to build an environment suitable for these winged reptiles.

This involves a special type of enclosure known as an Aviary. The game had a good choice of flying dinosaurs to choose from, and you can be sure that more are currently in development and waiting to be released. With this in mind, let’s determine which of them you will want to make sure is front-and-centre in your park.
Since its launch, Jurassic World Evolution 2 has treated players to several batches of DLC, including the Dominion Biosyn Expansion and several Cretaceous packs. The DLC included a new campaign, a Jurassic World Dominion chaos mode, and yes, more flying dinosaurs to add to this list.
/12 Indominus Rex & Velociraptor
- Forest Environment
The Indominus Rex made its debut in the Jurassic Park universe with Jurassic World, and it’s the first dinosaur to contain several dinosaur genes. And even though the movie version of this fierce Carnivore was uncontainable, players can keep the Indominus Rex secured in an enclosure.
And as players can expect, adding the Indominus Rex into their park will greatly increase the overall park rating, especially if they add a couple of Velociraptors. But, creating the Indominus Rex uses up lots of Scientists and Research, so players should expect to spend quite a bit of cash to unlock it.

Animal Behaviour And Welfare
Animals in Evolution 2 react intelligently to the world around them to a greater degree than in the first game, and have new animations and behaviours in their interactions with other animals and their environment. In the new territory system, animals explore their environment and settle in a habitat which suits their needs, claiming it as their own. Territories belonging to different species of dinosaur can exist within the same enclosure, which displays as a white outline on the ground, changing dynamically based on the dinosaurs changing needs. While many species can coexist harmoniously, others can come into conflict if their territories overlap.
A pack of Coelophysis, a new addition to the series, in Evolution 2.
Herbivores no longer require feeders, and instead feed on different types of foliage, with each species having their own preference.
Hunting and combat is more dynamic than the first game, with certain species, such as Velociraptor being able to hunt in packs to take down larger prey, while the face-off system used in the first game has similarly been removed. Prey animals are also able to escape predators, though may need to treated by a veterinary unit.
Like the first game, animals can escape from their enclosure if their needs are not met, a behavior which now extends to pterosaurs, such as Pteranodon, which can break out of their aviary and cause chaos around the park, requiring the player to dispatch ranger teams to track them down.
Jurassic World Evolution 2 Story
Jurassic World Evolution 2 features an original story that takes place after the explosive events of Fallen Kingdom. Players will lead the efforts of the Department of Fish and Wildlife to control, conserve, and contain wild dinosaurs roaming across the USA.
Fans of the movies will be glad to know that some iconic characters will be making appearances in the game, including Dr Ian Malcolm and Claire Dearing , who will assist the player in their goals.
The game also features a Chaos Theory mode, which lets players experience key moments in the Jurassic Park movies. Theres a twist, though, as these moments will feature what-if scenarios that can lead to unpredictable outcomes.

How To Increase Dinosaur Comfort In Jurassic World Evolution 2
Each dinosaur has unique environmental requirements in Jurassic World Evolution 2. Some prefer having others of its species around them, in an open space, or surrounded by trees and vegetation. It all depends on the dinosaurs you bring to your enclosures. Youll need to address these comforts whenever a new dinosaur is added to an enclosure. Heres what you need to know to increase dinosaur comfort and give them the best habitat in Jurassic World Evolution 2.
When a new dinosaur enters an enclosure, youll want to assign a Ranger team from a Response Facility. From there, you can take control of a Ranger team and drive them over to the dinosaurs enclosure, getting close enough to examine them. Youll need to use the binocular equipment by clicking the R button on your keyboard and scanning them when you get in range.
The territory needs detail if a dinosaur can have cohabitation with other dinosaurs not of its species, how big of an area it needs for its enclosure, and how many dinosaurs of the same species it needs. For example, for the Carnotaurs, it cannot be placed with other dinosaurs, it needs a medium enclosure, and it needs to be placed with at least one other dinosaur of its species.
Jurassic World Evolution : Dominion Biosyn Expands The Lore And Species Roster

We got to check out Jurassic World Evolution 2: Dominion Biosyn ahead of its official launch.
With the Jurassic World franchise soon to receive its latest installment with Jurassic World Dominion, new content is coming to Jurassic World Evolution 2 in celebration. The Dominion Biosyn expansion adds a new campaign experience as well as several new species of dinosaurs for players to add to their parks. I got to check out the new content prior to its official release with the team at Frontier.
In Jurassic World Evolution 2: Dominion Biosyn, players work to establish a new facility for Biosyn Genetics, another company in the Dinosaur engineering business that competed with InGen in the original books. The Biosyn facilities had different looks from the ones seen in the original game. This includes the science center, research post, hatchery, and staff center. This DLC also adds a new way to connect and transfer power underground, allowing me to properly distribute electricity around the park without placing a million generators and towers.
The new BioSyn campaign sees not only the return of Bryce Dallas Howard to voice Claire Dearing, but the addition of a couple other Jurassic legends as well. Sam Neill and Laura Dern appear to reprise their roles as Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler . Its nice having the iconic founding members of the franchise along for the latest journey.

- Lagoon Environment
Players who want to have an underwater enclosure that draws in the crowds will want to include the Elasmosaurus and Plesiosaurus since these two marine reptiles combined have 600+ Base Appeal. Furthermore, they require minimal socialization, which means players will need less of them in the enclosure to feel happy.
But, players will need to be willing to spend a lot of cash on feeding these beasts of the sea since they have a Genome Trait of Large Appetite. And while they tend to coexist in harmony, some of them may be aggressive, which means players will need to act quickly to avoid losing one of them.
Jurassic World Evolution 2 Review: Let The Dinosaurs Unleash Chaos
You can run a safe theme park. Or you can unleash chaos. Which is more fun?
Frontier Developments
Frontier Developments
THE original Jurassic Park was released in 1993, and as a dinosaur-obsessed 7-year-old, I simply had to see it. I badgered my parents to take me, even though I was probably a bit too young to watch people being eaten by monsters.
Needless to say, I loved it, and have had a soft spot for both the books and films ever since. So I jumped at the chance to make my own dinosaur park in Jurassic World Evolution 2.
The game adds dinosaurs to the template of classic management sims such as Theme Park or RollerCoaster Tycoon. You begin after the events of the fifth film, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, when dinosaurs were released en masse into the wild. Your job, working with the US Fish and Wildlife Service, is to round them up. This teaches you the basics of building enclosures, looking after dinosaurs and so on, but it isnt particularly exciting.
Jeff Goldblum and Bryce Dallas Howard voice their characters from the films and offer advice, but it seems the developers couldnt secure Chris Pratt, so settled for a substitute that sounds nothing like him.
I hatched two T. rex. They began fighting. Then one killed the other, bust a hole in the fence and escaped
That moment highlights a tension that the game doesnt quite manage to solve you want your park to run smoothly, but to really recreate the atmosphere of Jurassic Park, you want to unleash chaos.

Newer And Weirder Dinosaurs
There are several new nasties on the prowl, including the carnivorous Allosaurus, Baryonyx and Carnotaurus. Although these three are B-tier dinosaur celebrities who have even appeared heavily in Jurassic Park merchandise over the years, this marks their long-overdue debuts in the movie canon.
More fun for dino fans is present in the appearance of some truly obscure species: the horned dinosaur Sinoceratops enjoys a scene all to itself and we get several shots of the bizarre theropod Concavenator .
Scientific accuracy is still not the series’ biggest concern – there is not a feather in sight – boo! However, appearances of little-known species like this encourage viewers to look up newer or weirder dinosaurs and learn more about them, which can only be a good thing.
Sinoceratops, a relative of Triceratops from China, is a new dinosaur for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Whereas the dinosaur in the movie has holes in its frill, in real life they would have been covered in skin, as in this more accurate piece of palaeoart. © Nobu Tamura licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0 via Wikimedia Commons.
As well as featuring more dinosaurs, Fallen Kingdom follows the trend of the previous movie by adding more individual characters among their ranks.
My favourite character, though , is the newly-introduced ‘Stiggy’ the Pachycephalosaurus. A thick-headed ball of kinetic fury, Stiggy’s modest rampage was my favourite sequence in the film.

How To Treat Injured Dinosaurs
How to treat hurt creatures in Jurassic World Evolution 2 depends on what kind of injury they have. Unfortunately, the game never specifies. Some injuries such as fractures or possible broken limbs can be fixed right away. In this case, the MVU will do it for the player automatically. If its a bit of a worse injury than that, fans may need to send the task to the MVU again, only this time it should say heal on it instead.
Some injuries are far greater, such as lesions, and even the rare case where a dinosaur can swallow a Jurassic Park guests phone. In these cases, these sick animals need to be tranquilized by the Capture team and then transported to the paleo-medical facility for treatment. Once there, it will only take a few minutes for the dinosaur to be fixed and back to normal, and from there players can select the medical facility and hit the transport button to select the creatures enclosure and send them back.
Jurassic World Evolution 2 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
